Shipping, worldwide

We ship from Japan’s main export ports to buyers around the world. The right method depends on the car, the destination and how many cars are travelling.

RoRo

Roll-on, roll-off

The car is driven onto a specialist vehicle carrier and secured on deck. Usually the most economical choice for a single car on a route with regular sailings.

  • Car must be in running order
  • Loose items inside the car are normally not allowed
  • Sailings depend on the route

Container

Shared or sole-use container

The car is loaded and secured inside a shipping container. Suited to high-value cars, multiple cars for a dealer, or destinations without regular RoRo service.

  • More protection in transit
  • Several cars can share one container
  • Additional loading and unloading steps

Choosing your port

We quote to the port that suits you, considering sailing frequency, cost and how far the car then travels by road. Tell us your city and we will suggest options. Every quote states its basis clearly, for example FOB Japan or CIF to a named port.

From yard to port

  1. Yard

The car is moved to our export yard, photographed and prepared.

  2. Export

Deregistration, export certificate and any required pre-shipment inspection.

  3. Booking

A space is booked on the next suitable sailing and the booking is shared with you.

  4. Sailing

The vessel departs. You receive the bill of lading and sailing details.

  5. Arrival

The car arrives at your port, ready for customs clearance by you or your agent.

Transit time depends on the route, the vessel and the season. We give you an estimate with every quote and keep you updated, rather than promise a number we cannot control.
